Seven stages, bottom to top. You never break a finished stage while doing the next one. Most people learn this in an afternoon.
Every instruction names a face and a direction, from where you are sitting. Front is the side pointing at you. The BACK panel in the corner shows the three faces you cannot see.
A 2 after a letter just means do it twice. Stuck on which way? Hit Hint — it says the move in words.
Make a plus sign on the gold face. The four corners can be anything. Each arm must also match the colour of the side it touches — a gold-and-blue edge belongs on the blue side.
No algorithm here. Just move each edge down into place. This is the stage you work out yourself, and it is the one that teaches you how the cube moves.
Fill the four corners so the whole gold face is done and the bottom band of every side matches too.
Find a corner with gold on it in the top layer. Turn the top until it sits directly above the gap it belongs in. Then repeat the moves below until it drops in the right way up. It can take up to five goes — that is normal, keep going.

If a gold corner is stuck in the bottom facing the wrong way, run the same thing to pop it out first.
Two thirds done after this. Find a top-layer edge with no white on it. Turn the top until its front colour matches the centre below it — you will see a little upside-down T. Then send it left or right depending on where it needs to go.
U R U' R' U' F' U FU' L' U L U F U' F'No no-white edges left in the top but the middle is not finished? Run either one to kick the wrong piece out, then place it.
Look only at the white edges on top and ignore the corners. You will have one of these three. Run the moves below once from a dot to get an L, again from the L to get a line, again from the line to get the cross.

Hold the L so its two white edges point up and left. Hold the line so it runs side to side.
Now get each white corner to the right spot. It can still be facing the wrong way — that is stage 6's job. Find a corner already in its correct corner (all three of its colours match the three faces it touches), hold it front-right, and run this until the rest land.

If none are correct anywhere, run it once from any angle and one will appear.
Every corner is in the right place but some show white on the side. Hold the cube so a wrong-way corner is front-right and repeat the moves below until that one corner turns white-up. It will look like you are destroying the cube. You are not — keep going.

Then turn only the top to bring the next wrong corner to front-right. Never rotate the whole cube here. After the last one, the cube snaps back together.
Last three pieces. Find the edge that is already correct, hold it at the back, and run this to cycle the other three. Once or twice does it.

No edge correct anywhere? Run it once from any angle and one will settle.
Six sequences. Stages 2 and 6 are the same one. Nobody memorises this on the first go — use Hint, it names the stage you are on and shows the next move in words.
